Welcome to the Kindred Stamps October release! As usual, we have quite a variety to stamp sets and extras to offer this month. Today I am sharing the perfect masculine set called The Great Outdoors. With both a hunter and a fisherman, this set has great puns to celebrate those guys in your life. I've created three projects for you today using this set.
I chose not to color the deer in the background so he could blend in more, which is the point. I lightly blended distress ink onto my torn paper ground and very lightly onto the trees. These makeup brushes really are pretty amazing for blending and are under $10?! (at the time I wrote this blog). I have a different brand, but they are identical. Be sure to check out the new Forest Stencil from this release; it would be perfect for this set! It wasn't in stock in time for me to use.
(Poor deer.. lol) I embossed circle infinity dies to create the crosshairs, adding my Copic colored buck to the center.
My anniversary is today (yay for 7 years!), and I'll be giving the husband this card later today. He loves to fish, but sadly never seems to find enough time. I tried to create simpler designs for this set, since I think guys tend to prefer that. However, my final card is busier, but I really love how it turned out. We as crafters shouldn't be afraid to create fun dude cards!!
