Kindred Stamps: Upstairs Family

Welcome to the third day of peeks at our incredible release this March with Kindred Stamps(Affiliate links used when possible; thank you!)  I was so excited to work with this British masterpiece, Upstairs Family.  I couldn't resist coloring all eight characters and attempted to use all of the available sentiments.

Supplies used:
Upstairs Family (new)
British Invasion Paper Pack (new)
British Flag Slices (new)
Card Builder Basics Die

I colored all characters with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers and cut out with my ScanNCut (Amazon affiliate link).  Then, I just started laying out ideas using the new British Invasion papers.  (Note: I embossed the sentiment "Abbey Birthday Countess" in gold on the patterned paper and the heat didn't work well with the paper.  It did seem to alter it a smidge, not well seen in the picture or likely noticeable to the recipient, but I wanted to mention.  That is why I chose not to emboss anything else on the patterned paper itself though.)

I couldn't resist the sweetest couple and was struggling with how to use them on a project.  Nothing I was coming up with seemed right.  Then, I had an epiphany--a heart that represented their different backgrounds and how love surpassed it all (status, culture, everything).  I used patterned paper behind the lady, and paper-pieced the Irish flag behind the lad.  I cut strips of paper (green, white, and orange), glued to the heart base, and then trimmed around the heart base (see below).  I wanted a sentiment about love so I typed one on my typewriter (Amazon affiliate link).

My next project grouping could happily fill a mini pocket letter or standalone as tag and ATCs, or artist trading cards.  (See my ATC info page if you want to know more about ATCs.)  I used the British Invasion Paper Pack to adorn them, adding a few British Flag Slices to embellish the ATC on the right.

I thought these famous married couple would be perfect on the cover of a mini album, perfect for documenting a fun weekend away.  I created a bulk-free tulle shaker element for the cover as well.  (I have an older Live replay on my YouTube channel creating a tulle shaker here:  No Bulk Tulle Shaker Card, just fast forward to minute 7.)  I merely glued the tulle to the frame, added the British Flag Slices, and then glued the frame (with tulle) to the circle base.  Shaker done!

My final two projects are cards.  I elected for a modest background for this sassy matron and more layers for the handsome couple on the second card.

The doily was cut from a vintage book pages using a doily die from Jaded Blossom.  The stitched circle and square were cut with the Card Builder Basics Die.
