I just adore the unicorns in Beth Duff Designs new stamp set Unicorn Farts.
The images are so whimsical and fun! With Mother's Day quickly approaching, I wanted to create a card for all those special moms of daughters. For the sentiment, I recently bought a pre-loved Stampin Up set from crafty friend Rachel (also on the team) and knew mother/daughter sentiment was the one.
I colored the unicorn holding the rose as well as the rainbow stripes with Copic markers. The rainbow die and clouds are from Waffle Flower's April release called Rainbow Panel Die (Scrapbook.com). I lightly inked my top-folding A2 card base with Distress Ink in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon. For the card frame, also from the Rainbow Panel Die set, I covered it in a thin layer of glue using the amazing Tonic Studios Nuvo Large Flat Tip Glue Pen (Scrapbook.com; TonicStudios.com). The glue is SO easy to apply and is strong enough to hold glitter and their gilding flakes. So, I covered the frame with Tonic Studios Nuvo Gilding Flakes in Silver Bullion (Scrapbook.com; TonicStudios.com), brushing it with a stiff paint brush after to burnish the flakes. I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and adhered all elements flat to the card front, except the unicorn which is attached using foam tape. A scattering of sequins and touch of shimmer pen to the clouds and unicorn completed the card.
For the inside, I used the remaining blue ink from my brush and added a light sky to frame the sentiment. For fun, I added the smallest cloud from the Waffle Flower Rainbow die set and a sequin.
I adore this card and think it would also need to include a tissue for the recipient. I want to wish all of you mothers a very happy Mother's Day!
