Sweet Sentiment November Release

Welcome to the October release with Sweet Sentiment (affiliate links when available; thank you!).  This month we have some fabulous magically amazing sets. I've created a fun collection of projects using 3 of the new stamp sets.

It's Your Birthday
Lick the Frosting
Lie About Your Age
Sweet Sentiment Premium Cardstock
Copic Multiliner Pens (Amazon aff.)
Gelly Roll Pen - White (Amazon aff.)

I colored all images with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers on Sweet Sentiment Premium Cardstock.  I stamped all images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink which is a no-no for alcohol markers.  I forgot I had stamped with that ink, intending to watercolor the images.  However, I colored (VERY successfully) with alcohol markers even after stamping with an ink that is not alcohol marker friendly.  I had wee smearing on the cookie but only because my marker was dry and I scrubbed to color.  Otherwise, I can't believe I had no issues!!  That's a HUGE wow for me since VersaFine stamps so crisply and black.

I modified two of the three girl images I colored from It's Your Birthday -- adding shoulder length hair to the one above and a ponytail to the one below.  I thoroughly enjoy finding ways to transform these images, broadening their use.  I also add wee details to their tops and shoes as well using a Copic Multiliner Pens (on Amazon).  I also added earrings with Gelly Roll Pen - White.

I added a wee ruffle line to her collar and bottom shirt hem as well as the ponytail.  So fun!

The rosettes used on the two projects above were created with 1.25" strips of 11" plain old copy paper, eye-ball folded accordian style every 0.25" or so.  I smooshed the rosette for the tag above to both reduce bulk and add more interest.

Since the above sentiment is so large, I elected to make it the focal point, embellishing with the party girl and her cupcake.  A light green inking behind the party girl broke up the white of the card and introduced a complementary color the pinks.

I played with complementary colors for my final card above, mixing patterns from a single paper pad.  The beauty of using papers from a single collection is that they already coordinate so no extra effort is needed.  Again, the sentiment is quite large so I created a focal element on the lower right with the sentiment holding it's own on the opposite corner.

So, which project is your favorite?  I really love the transformations of the birthday girl images personally.  I think the Christmas one is my favorite.
