I have so much to blog about, but never quite enough time. :) I will work on that. Pinky swear. I want to share my latest card with you today that I made for the Taylored Expressions 9th Birthday Sketch Challenge!! Taylored Expressions is happily celebrating 9 years of business! Yahoo!! This is also Day 6 of Kathy Rac's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.
I thought I would take a fun spin on the sketch (above) and use clouds as the center pieces instead of patterned or colored papers. Their stamp set Magical Day is so terribly adorable! I have been itching to use it for some time now.
I love the warmth of a sunset and wanted to incorporate those colors into this card - they also remind me of autumn which is quickly approaching! After Copic coloring the dragons, I used distress inks to create the sunset colored background on watercolor paper and spritzed with water to add more character.
I die cut the clouds and lightly brushed on some Stormy Sky distress ink to the bottom edges. After figuring out placement, I stamped the sentiment on the upper right cloud using my MISTI. The flying dragon was adhered with foam tape for dimension and the sitting dragon, as well as the cloud directly beneath the flying dragon, were ever so slightly elevated by gluing a piece of cardstock between the background and the image.
A few drops of Nuvo crystal drops were added as a final embellishment. I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do. It makes me smile. :)
